ABRASIVE COMPARISON
Steel Grit vs Glass Beads: Profile or Finish?
Steel grit and glass beads belong to different media families. Shape and intended process make them starting points for different enquiries; neither is a universal replacement for the other.
Scroll the table sideways to compare both materials.
| Consideration | Steel grits | Glass beads |
|---|---|---|
| Media family | Angular metallic abrasive. Verify the offered hardness and grading. | Spherical glass media. Verify the offered bead-size range. |

Make the comparison specific
For a defined profile before coating, do not accept a cosmetic finish as proof of compliance. If appearance is the objective, record the required finish and agree a sample trial. Send equipment and substrate details with either enquiry.
Grades, sizes, packing, origin, prices and documentation must be confirmed for the actual quotation. No material is universally best and no operating performance is guaranteed here.
